Chinese Journal of Physiology (CJP) published an article by Iwamoto J. et al. “Effects of combined administration of alfacalcidol and risedronate on cancellous and cortical bone mass of the tibia in glucocorticoid-treated young rats” in 2008, 51(3), pp.121-128.[1] Several concerns including authorship issues and partial duplicated data about the study have been raised. Co-author, Yoshihiro Sato, states that he should not have been listed as an author, based on a written statement of Yoshihiro Sato on Jan 18, 2016. In Iwamoto J. et al. 2008,[1] Table 3 and Table 4 contain overlapping data with Table 2 and Table 3, respectively, in another publication on J Nutr Sci Vitaminol by the same group of authors.[2] This indicates partial double publication and part of the data published in CJP 2008 was published already in J Nutr Sci Vitaminol 2007.[1],[2]
We therefore retract this paper and deeply apologize to the community for not having noticed these issues prior to publication.
